JAMIE Gault, her fiance Ivan Darragh and brother Christopher are all very excited about celebrating the opening of their new cafe A Bite Above, as well as celebrating their two year anniversary of the opening of The Chip Stop.

Ivan had been a chef at The Lodge Hotel, Coleraine for eight years when he and Jamie’s brother Christoper decided to open The Chip Stop. It is beside Day Today filling station in Mosside and is now open 7 days a week from 9am until 10pm. Breakfast and lunch specials are available as well as traditional ‘chippy’ food.

Ivan said,”Our best selling item is the Chicken Maryland. It has two chicken fillets, two sausages, two pieces of bacon, two pineapple fritters and comes with chips, salad and peas.” Christopher added,”As it serves two people, at £6.10 it is a real bargain!”

Jamie, who had finished university but was unable to find a job in the current economic climate, decided to open A Bite Above on 21 Main Street, Ballymoney. A Bite Above is a fully air conditioned cafe above The Card Shop and is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. They serve a wide variety of food as well as Pensioners’ Specials for only £3.99 with FREE tea or coffee. Jamie said,”All our food is freshly prepared and battered to order which means you can always guarantee a great meal. Furthermore, our speciality MEGA chicken fillet burger is definitely worth a try!”

She added,”We have made great friends over the past two years and it is very touching when people become regular customers. Ivan, Christopher and I work very hard and sometimes it can be hectic but we love working within a family run business. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have given us help and support over the past two years and to everybody reading this, we hope to see you very soon.”
