Grant opens the door of opportunity for Ballymena business

Ballymena based business, JB Doors Systems, have benefitted from a grant to create a new office space and complete an extension of their existing workshop.

They received the grant as part of the Rural Development Programme which is funded through the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA).

The family run company have been providing clients with security doors, loading bays, vehicle barriers and industrial and commercial roller shutters for over 10 years and pride themselves in providing first class customer service to all their clients within the public and private sector.

Helen McCormack, Managing Director at JB Doors Systems said: “We would like to thank Mid and East Antrim Local Action Group (LAG) Board as this grant has assisted us in upgrading our manufacturing plant and new office premises. These facilities have allowed us to employ additional staff, improve efficiencies and manufacturing capability.

Commenting on the completion of the project, Mid and East Antrim LAG Board Chairperson, Kelli McRoberts said: “It is great to see rural businesses like JB Doors avail of this funding to sustain and grow their business. This grant has provided the office space they require to discuss client requirements and the extension will enable them to expand their manufacturing capacity. We wish them every success in the future”.

Overall 44 rural businesses within the Mid and East Antrim Borough have received grants under the Rural Development Scheme 2014-2020 which has equated to £1.5 million of funding being utilised.

Businesses have received between £500 and £90,000 to carry out a diverse range of projects that will boost the rural economy.
