Helping hand for local building firm

A BUILDING firm in Londonderry, Delap and Waller, is among those getting a business boost to win contracts in Eastern Europe.

Assistance is being offered through Invest Northern Ireland, which has appointed an experienced marketing agency in the Czech Republic to assist local companies win more business in Central and Eastern Europe.

NITC-EasyLink, based in Prague and with offices in Bulgaria, Poland and Romania, will help Northern Ireland companies to pinpoint and to exploit export opportunities in these four key markets of Central and Eastern Europe. Headed by Filip Korinek, a Czech marketing expert who has worked with a broad range of private and public sector organisations including the World Bank and the US Embassy in Prague.

The appointment was announced by Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director, at the start of a trade mission to Poland involving a total of 15 Northern Ireland companies, including Delap and Waller. The mission members will spend this week exploring business opportunities, which NITC-Easylink has helped to pinpoint for them, in Warsaw, Krakow and other business centres in Poland.

“The appointment of the new trade advisory service follows a series of trade missions to these markets which indicated high levels of interest in the type of quality products and services that Northern Ireland companies are able to offer. NITC-Easylink will play a key role in assisting our companies to increase awareness of their products and services in these markets and promote good business contacts,” Dr Kell said.

The mission to Poland includes several companies with business in this market as well as in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Romania.
