Hopes are high that more Lockdown restrictions in the coming months will help the restaurant industry in Portadown, according to one owner.

Adam Carroll, who with his wife Claire, own AIR Artisan Italian Restaurant in West St, says they have been welcoming a steady stream of customers since reopening.

They had been providing a takeaway service which proved very popular to Portadown folk during Lockdown.

Adam revealed that with social distancing and government guidelines, the restaurant, which first opened last December, is operating at a reduced capacity but, since reopening, have had a positive start.

Adam said the restaurant, which is open Wednesday through to Sunday from 5-10pm each evening, has had a regular stream of customers.

They used their time during Lockdown to progress their business plan and have even been working on Christmas menus in anticipation of bookings starting in September.
