Hairdressers and other close contact businesses will be the first to open their doors on Friday (April 23), with other retailers opening on May 30.

There is also an indicative date of May 24 for the reopening of the hospitality industry, although they can welcome customers outdoors from April 30.

As businesses in the city look forward to opening their doors once again, they are encouraging people to support their local shops and help Lisburn to bounce back from lockdown.

The Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Nicholas Trimble said: “It has definitely been a different start to the year for our local businesses who have adapted during the pandemic.

“It will be great to see an increased footfall in our city centre and to see our local family owned and high street businesses back to doing what they do best serving the local community.

“It is important we all continue to follow the public health guidance and adhere to all safety measures in place while visiting local retailers.”
