With the help of a council led project the Lurgan company are hoping to supply labels for the pharmaceutical industry.

They already print labels for food and beverage products such as Bottle Green drinks, Tesco Finest products, Morrison and Marks & Spencer spirits and Hayman’s Old Tom Gin. However the Life Sciences industry is more strictly monitored and getting the green light to supply labels to pharmaceutical companies would be a huge financial boost to the company.

He said: “Because we’re very strong in food packaging, brochures, leaflets, flyers and stationery we wanted to include labels so we could offer customers everything without having to go to another supplier to get their labels. We have our own design studio so we can design labels ourselves as well as process the labels companies have designed.”

He added: “The business has been expanding rapidly which is why we moved to the new premises. The next step would be to begin printing labels for the pharmaceutical industry. To this end Craigavon Council have helped us meet regulations to be able to venture into this area.”

Life Sciences project manager Louise Cushnahan commented: “We are aiming to increase the capabilities of local SMEs to supply the multi-billion pound Life Science sector. We want to make Craigavon a centre of excellence.”

Development chair Carla Lockhart said: “This is the perfect example of how a business can diversify with guidance from the experts to use their existing equipment to broaden their horizons.”
