Magherafelt based Genesis Bakery unites with Brennans Bakeries in 'strategic distribution partnership'

Genesis Bakery has announced a new shared distribution partnership with Brennans Bakeries, a strategic move set to significantly enhance bakery distribution, service levels and product availability across Northern Ireland.

The partnership brings together two established bakery brands to create a more efficient and resilient distribution model, delivering tangible benefits for retailers and consumers alike. By aligning their logistics and route networks, the collaboration will extend market reach and expand the product offering, while improving access to stores not currently serviced by either business, and ensure greater consistency and freshness on shelf.

Under the new arrangement, Genesis Bakery – which employs more than 250 people at its Magherafelt site – will distribute a selected range of Brennans Bakeries bread products directly to local retailers, strengthening availability while maintaining the high-quality standards for which both locally owned brands are known.

JP Lyttle, Commercial & Product Development Director Genesis Bakery, said: "This partnership with Brennans Bakeries is great news for retailers and great news for our customers as we are complementing our already extensive range of bread products, cakes and morning goods. By working together, we can optimise our distribution routes, extend our footprint and provide an even more responsive, reliable service across Northern Ireland. For consumers, it means improved access to trusted bakery brands in their local stores, delivered fresh and consistently."

This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to quality, reliability, and long-term investment in the Northern Ireland market.”

The enhanced distribution model is designed to support a stronger in-store presence for both bakeries, helping retail partners drive sales through improved availability, increased frequency of delivery and enhanced service support.
