MLA urges ‘warm thinking’

North Antrim MLA David McIlveen wants constituents to ‘Think Warm’ when buying Christmas presents this year, particularly for elderly or vulnerable residents.

Mr McIlveen said: “During my most recent meeting with the Public Health Agency, we hit upon the idea of encouraging people to ‘Think Warm’ when buying Christmas presents this year. If you know anyone elderly, or vulnerable, or someone who is simply finding it difficult to buy oil, ‘Think Warm’ when you are considering Christmas gifts.

“There are a range of possibilities from oil stamps, to energy vouchers, from radiator enhancers to draft excluders. Maybe even a heavier pair of curtains for the main family room would be useful or an extra winter duvet for bedrooms. “I have launched this campaign with 5 weeks until Christmas and will continue to encourage everyone to ‘Think Warm’ in the coming weeks.
