New Trustees for RUC George Cross Foundation sought

Justice Minister David Ford has today launched a competition to appoint three Trustees to the Board of the RUC George Cross Foundation.

The Foundation has a number of statutory functions including marking the sacrifices and honouring the achievements of the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

The Minister said: “The Foundation’s functions allow it to recognise a long, proud history of policing in Northern Ireland. It has an important place in the wider policing family and carries out a significant job in providing support to serving and ex-police officers and their families. Those appointed will have a fundamental role to play during their tenure.
