New Work Ready programme now opens for applications

Causeway Coast and Glens Labour Market Partnership (LMP) has announced a new programme which aims to support individuals to overcome barriers to employment.

The Work Ready scheme, which is funded by the Department for Communities through their Labour Market Partnership initiative, will be delivered by Northern Regional College and North West Regional College.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Council, Councillor Ivor Wallace said: “I am delighted that this programme is now available in our Borough through the Labour Market Partnership. The specific support it offers will make a real difference to those taking part by providing tailored training and support in areas including CV writing, interview skills and personal development.”

Marc McGerty, Manager of Causeway Coast and Glens LMP, said: “The Work Ready programme will equip participants with the skills, tools, and crucially the confidence they need to get ready for work.”

To qualify you must: Be resident in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area; Be aged 18+; Be eligible to work in the UK; Be currently unemployed – no matter what your benefit status.

Marie Donaghy, Business Engagement Officer at Northern Regional College, added: “Working in collaboration with North West Regional College, we will offer CV support, job application workshops, and we’ll liaise with employers to offer work taster opportunities and provide participants with crucial support to build their confidence, gain new skills and overcome any barriers they face to the workplace.

"Northern Regional College staff will empower learners who take part in this programme to realise their full potential.”
