North Coast set to become an Alfresco Adventureland

APRIL 9 and 10 is the Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend with 13 outdoor activity events available for families, couples and groups of friends throughout the North Coast area alone.

This unique weekend will celebrate the rich variety of outdoor activities available across the whole of Northern Ireland and all activities will be on offer for only £10 per person. The North Coast region sees no less than 7 outdoor activity providers grouping together to offer 13 activity events, showcasing just how easy it is for everyone to get outdoors and try something new.

On offer is everything from a family friendly Sea Safari along the spectacular Causeway Coast to laser skirmishing near Limavady. For the young and adventurous out there, there is the opportunity to try your hand at Surfing in Portrush or head out Sea Kayaking along the North Coast.

The Northern Ireland Adventureland campaign has been launched by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) in association with OutdoorNI.com. NITB’s Product Marketing Officer Helen Carey says this weekend provides the perfect opportunity for families and groups of friends to discover the wealth of opportunities to get active right on their doorstep.

“Anybody with a free afternoon and a sense of adventure can make the most of the Adventureland Weekend which is jam-packed with huge outdoor adventures,” said Helen.

A number of activity providers from along the North Coast are also offering 2 hour packaged ‘taster sessions’ so that people can have a go at archery, climbing, zip lining and laser clay pigeon shooting to name just a few activities. For something a little more tranquil there is the opportunity for families to head out for a relaxing paddle and picnic along the Lower Bann Canoe Trail on Sunday 10th April.

“With the great variety of activities available across Northern Ireland on a single weekend, all for £10 per person, the Northern Ireland Adventureland weekend really stands out as the perfect opportunity to get outdoors and fabulous value for money,” she continued.

“No experience is necessary for any of the activities and participants will be looked after by fully qualified instructors so the emphasis is on having fun. All you need to do is book a place online and get adventuring – you never know you might uncover activities or even hidden talents you didn’t know existed.”

The Adventureland Weekend itself marks the launch of a whole summer of fun in Northern Ireland with loads of great activities on offer for people looking to get outdoors or for that something just a little bit different. As a special bonus, all those taking part in activities during the Northern Ireland Adventureland weekend on 9th & 10th April will receive a 10% discount off a further booking before the end of September 2011.
