Petition launched for social housing in Moneymore

MID-ULSTER MLA’s Ian McCrea and Patsy McGlone have joined forces to hand in a petition demqanding for social housing to be made available in Moneymore.

The Assemblymen handed over the petition to Housing Executive District Manager Ivan Armstrong last week.

Mr McCrea dn Mr McGlone disccused the need for more sheltered housing in the area and ways to bring the request forward.

In a joint statement the MLA’s said: “We recently attended a Pensioners Parliament event on Thursday 29 March to hear the views of Pensioners across Mid Ulster.

“During the event we were asked to receive a signed petition on behalf of residents in Moneymore who supported the need for Sheltered Housing in the Moneymore area.”

“In handing over the petition to the District Manager of the Housing Executive today both MLA’s discussed the local housing need in the Moneymore area alongside the process for moving this request forward.

“We look forward to working alongside the local community and the Housing Executive to try and deliver Sheltered Housing in Moneymore,” concluded the statement.
