Rates payments hit by bank crisis

LAND & Property Services (LPS), which collects rates on behalf of central and local government, is issuing the following advice to customers who pay by Direct Debit in light of the ongoing technical difficulties being experienced by Ulster Bank.

In light of the current ongoing Ulster Bank technical difficulties there is a possibility that customers whose Direct Debit for rate payments normally comes out at the end of the month will be affected..

LPS is advising that customers do not need to take any action. If LPS does not receive the rate payment on June 29 they will request a double payment on 31 July. Customers should ensure that they leave adequate funds in their account to cover the double payment which will automatically be taken.
