Residents reap rewards from retailer

Senior citizens in Carrickfergus Borough have been on the receiving end of ‘random acts of kindness’ by a local retailer.

The Lidl Surprises team paid a visit to Abbeyfield House in Greenisland and Oakfield Community Centre.

They spent time with the residents, planted flowers and helped to tidy up the gardens as well as revive old garden furniture.

The new campaign has been recently launched in Northern Ireland where a dedicated Surprises team travels to local communities paying impromptu visits to groups such as mums and tots, exercise classes, youth clubs and community centres.

The team hand out treats which showcase the locally sourced products from Northern Ireland.

As part of their recent trip, the team also visited Oakfield Community Centre, where they interacted with members of the Over 50s Forum as w ell as surprising residents on the streets of Carrickfergus with goodies.
