Rising Phoenix Award for Creative Media Storytelling 2026 for Coleraine's Aspire Media
A Coleraine media company has been awarded the Rising Phoenix Award for Creative Media Storytelling 2026.
Aspire Media NI CIC received the award for the organisation’s outstanding contribution to creative media, community engagement, education and digital innovation across Northern Ireland.
Founded in 2022 by Robert Campbell and Andy Cooper, Aspire Media NI CIC is a social enterprise dedicated to creating positive impact through media, education and community-focused storytelling.
The organisation has grown from a local community media initiative into a thriving social enterprise, supporting charities, community groups, social enterprises and small businesses through professional media services, accredited training opportunities and digital innovation.
The award acknowledges Aspire Media’s commitment to using media as a force for positive change while creating opportunities for individuals, organisations and communities to share their stories and strengthen local engagement.
Robert Campbell, Co-Founder and Operations Director, said: “What motivates me is knowing that the work we do has the potential to create opportunities and make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
"As a social enterprise, Aspire Media NI CIC was founded on the belief that media should do more than simply communicate; it should educate, empower, inspire and create opportunities.
"This recognition is not only a reflection of our journey but also of the incredible people, organisations and communities who have supported us and continue to inspire us every day.”
Andy Cooper, Co-Founder and Creative Director, added: “Over the years I’ve worked in many different roles and always believed that whatever the task, it deserves your very best effort.
"That philosophy remains at the heart of Aspire Media. Through strong relationships with charities, businesses and community organisations, we have seen first-hand how powerful storytelling can be in bringing people together, raising awareness and creating positive change.”
Looking ahead, Aspire Media plans to further expand its educational programmes, strengthen partnerships with community organisations and charities, develop additional opportunities for volunteers and learners, and continue investing in innovative media projects that create meaningful social impact.
