Lisburn Mayor, Alderman Paul Porter, said it would be easier this year for local companies to submit an application to the awards.

“In previous years the Council has received in excess of 150 individual applications and I would anticipate even more entries this time around as the Lisburn City Business Awards has gathered momentum and become a prestigious event in the local business calendar” he said.

Councillor Jenny Palmer, Chairman of the Council’s Economic Development Committee, said: “The local business community has much to celebrate with many independent and national businesses that strive for business excellence.

“I would urge local companies to use this as an opportunity to showcase the excellent business talent throughout the City, and help get the message out that despite the continued uncertain economic times, Lisburn is a City within which businesses can thrive.”
