St George’s Market showcase for young Carrickfergus traders

Budding entrepreneurs from Carrickfergus have been showcasing their trading skills at St George’s Market in Belfast.

Downshire’s School’s ‘This & That’ team took part in Young Enterprise Northern Ireland’s ‘Big Market’ event.

In a statement, the school explained: “The students were presented with a unique opportunity to set up and trade at the iconic Saint George’s Market in Belfast.

“They gained first-hand experience of presenting an eye-catching trade stand, interacting with other Young Enterprise traders and selling directly to the public.

“In this way Young Enterprise Northern Ireland provided the 70 schools in attendance with an opportunity to further develop the soft skills which employers require in modern workplaces – communication, confidence, teamwork and problem solving.”
