Students’ stock on the rise

A team from Carrickfergus Grammar School has been placed third in the annual Northern Ireland Stock Market Challenge run by Global Investor.

The competition uses a trading floor simulation and involves 20 to 30 schools in each region of the United Kingdom.

Recording a profit of £10,700 - a 53.5% return on the initial investment – the North Road students benefitted from “effective teamwork and communication” having to analyse data from various sources and make a decision ahead of the other teams.
