Gulliver’s Galley Café, at Kilroot industrial estate, hosted the event with Ulster’s traditional fry topping the bill.

Café owner Slava Stevenson said: “Just before Christmas my daughter Dara and I decided to host a charity fundraising event to raise some money for the local Children’s Hospice.

“I opened up the café for the first time on a Sunday and Dara opened up our wee craft shop next door. We had a great day and really enjoyed the feel good factor by staff and patrons alike.

“We have to thank the hospice for their help and the local paper, radio and businesses who let local people know it was on.

“We fully intend to organise future events are would like to thank everyone who supported our big breakfast event.”

Children’s Hospice provides respite and end of life care for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Catherine O’Hara, the charity’s Community fundraiser, said: “I would like to thank Slava, Dara and the staff of Gulliver’s Galley and Swift Gallery for this generous gesture. In terms of fundraising this will make a life changing difference to our children, young people and their families.

“Last year we cared for 293 life-limited children living across Northern Ireland. It is thanks to the generosity and support of the people of Northern Ireland that we are able to do this.”

Care is provided at the Children’s Hospice buildings in Newtownabbey and Killadeas and also in local communities across the province.
