Titanic deal for Londonderry Tech business

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has announced that Retail Systems Technology Ltd (RST) in Londonderry has won business at Titanic Belfast.

The Minister congratulated the Campsie company on supplying its unique iTouch Point of Sale software and hardware system, developed with assistance from Invest Northern Ireland, to the iconic Titanic Belfast building.

Titanic Belfast is now using RST systems for all its customer sales operations throughout the recently opened building in Titanic Quarter.

The extensive system supplied by RST includes all retail, hospitality and ticket sales terminals complete with scanners and fully integrated chip and pin payment facilities. In all RST provided 19 point of sale terminals, five ticketing terminals and six self service kiosks to the gift shop, galley, bistro, Olympic and Britannic Suites and Bridge Bar at the Titanic visitor attraction.

Arlene Foster said: “This important contract for RST, one of the most successful and progressive technology businesses in the North West, shows that the massive investment at Titanic Belfast is benefiting other parts of Northern Ireland.

“This strategic commitment in innovation has resulted in the company securing business throughout the UK, the Republic of Ireland and further afield. The business at Titanic Belfast provides this ambitious company with a marvellous showcase of its technology.”

RST, with its head office at Campsie and branches in Belfast, Dublin and Chester, is a leading UK and Ireland specialist in the design, development and installation of electronic point of sale systems (EPoS) for the retail and hospitality sectors.

Visitor ticket sales on the system are provided via a web booking portal or can be bought at the venue from the ticket desks or self service Kiosks. The RST system also includes Protel conference and banqueting software together with a sales and marketing facility for the function room management.

RST was formed in 1977 and has become a market leader in the development of EPoS technology for a broad range of applications using iTouch Point of Sale software coupled with high quality hardware components. The company employs 30 people. Around 40 per cent of its business is now provided from major retail and hospitality clients in Great Britain including a number of major UK universities where RST systems are being used in the restaurants, bars, shops and in the student accommodation halls for cashless catering operations.
