Transport graduate wins awards

Dean Elder, son of Billy and June Elder, Magheramason, who graduated with an MSc (Distinction) in Infrastructure Engineering from Ulster University. He is a past pupil of Bready Primary School and Strabane High and Grammar Schools.

Dean received his earlier education at Bready Primary School, Strabane High School and Strabane Grammar School. Currently working as a section engineer with BAM Nuttall, London, as part of his studies he did a Masters Dissertation which examined road traffic collisions on single carriageways and this research was been recognised by the CIOB International Innovation and Research Awards for which he received the top Premier Award in the Masters Dissertation Category from over 60 dissertations across six countries.

He also received the Institution of Civil Engineers William Bald Scholarship, which recognises the best post-graduate dissertation related to transportation.
