Two new media promotions to help boost trade in Larne

TWO new media campaigns have been launched aimed at boosting trade in Larne.

The Larne Times is helping to promote Larne businesses through our own Keep It Local campaign. We’re urging readers to support businesses in their own borough in these difficult economic times by buying from local shops and services.

Larne Traders’ Forum has also launched a new website for town centre businesses and will further promote the area through a Shopping At The Heart Of Larne campaign.

The Department for Social Development ReStore project is funding www.mainstreetcentrallarne.com and a province-wide advertising campaign was launched on Monday to let shoppers know that Larne is “just one click away”.

Over the next few weeks, additional details and contacts will be added to the website so shoppers are encouraged to keep checking to find out more about Shopping At The Heart Of Larne”. The website will be updated regularly and provides an opportunity for shoppers to learn about special offers or promotions.

John Shannon, chairman of Larne Traders’ Forum, said: “This is a great new way to bring what is available in Larne to the wider shopping public; local people know that there is a wide variety of shops and services in our town centre and this new website makes sure that our local knowledge and hidden gems are promoted and shared. It also encourages residents to continue to shop local and to be proud of our town centre.”

The Larne Times Keep It Local campaign seeks to encourage more people to look in Larne shops instead of travelling further afield.
