Unemployment rise
THE number of people out of work in the Coleraine Borough Council area has risen by over 4% since this time last year.
Figures published by the Labour Market for the month of February show that there are now 1,955 people on the dole in the Coleraine area - that’s 1,406 men and 540 women.
The figures represent a rise of 18 compared with January (0.9%) and a rise of 87 compared with February 2011 (4.7%).
