“The event has exceeded our expectations. At the start of the day we had 270 people registered to attend for a test drive. That is a mixture of staff and members of the public, but it has been really busy all day and we will exceed that number,” Laura said.

The company received a lot of positive feedback about the new range of trucks from the local drivers who were in attendance.

“There are a lot of new features with the trucks on show here, and the drivers have been very impressed with what they have seen. We have given the drivers the opportunity to get a hands on approach with the trucks, and I don’t think any of them have been disappointed,” Laura continued.

The open day was the first to take place at the Ballyclare depot since 2009.

“Today has provided us with a great opportunity for our customers and staff to come together. It isn’t something that we do every year, but it has been really rewarding,” Laura added.

Group Sales Director Rob Ireland is pleased that the event was staged in Ballyclare.

“We have been able to reach out into the community and welcome the public here today. We have food stalls, an ice cream van, a kart track for the kids and vintage trucks, so really there is something for everyone,” he said.

The company has been working with Volvo since 1969, and holds the sole franchise for Volvo Trucks in Northern Ireland.

“Volvo Trucks UK have been very supportive of Dennison Commercials. They have been in business together since 1969, and it is very pleasing to be able to showcase the new range of trucks here today,” Rob added.
