World host customer service awards in Ballymena

EMPLOYERS and staff from Accommodation, Sport and Entertaing took part in a world class customer service programme, held in The Braid Museum and Arts Centre Ballymena and have achieved their World Host Customer Service certificates.

The awards ceremony was held in The Braid, Ballymena and the certificates were presented by the Mayor of Ballymena, Alderman Hubert Nicholl.

The programme, delivered by Jean Haworth, World Host Trainer was orginally developed in Canada, widely perceived as a global leader for Customer Service and has brought to Northern Ireland by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board in partnership with the sector skills council, people 1st to help raise service quality to international standards.

Jean Haworth said: “Customer Service is a vital part of the visitor experience and this is an excellent opportunity for businesses to develop their skills to enable them to deliver world class service excellance.”

For businesses in the tourism, hospitality, leisure and passenger sectors, with less than 250 employees, the training programme is 90% funded by the Department of Employment and Learning for participants who have direct engagement with visitors.
