The Crockett family have said that a private family funeral will take place on Friday June 12, 2020 at their Coshquin Road home, followed by burial in Burt Presbyterian Church Burying Ground.

In a post on Facebook, the church reported the death of Mr Crockett, describing him as “a highly regarded member of our congregation and well known farmer”.

It added: “We offer our sincere sympathy to his wife Margaret, sons Gordon and Lewis and daughter Rebecca.”

Funeral arrangements will be in accordance with current COVID-19 regulations, it added.

James Buchanan, clerk of session at the church, told the News Letter that Mr Crockett’s son, Gordon, had been fixing the roof of an outbuilding when he got into difficulty.

“His father got up on a ladder to help but then part of the roof collapsed and both men fell,” he said.
