“Special praise must also be given to those pupils, and teachers, within the following departments who in particular excelled this year: Double Award Science and Music - 100% A*-C grade passes, History 89.3%, Single Award Science 88.9% and Occupational Studies 87%. We celebrate the success achieved by young people of all abilities.

“It is highly evident from these excellent results, that the staff are using data to track pupil progress, set individual targets and are putting in place strategies to improve performance.

“This approach to differentiated learning means that all learning styles may be catered for, pupils can be challenged and everyone can fulfil their true potential. Last year, we focused on after school revision classes, study skills seminars and academic mentoring programmes to name but a few. We reap the benefits of all of these strategies.

“We wish to congratulate all of our pupils on the splendid results this year. Such achievements are a reflection of the dedicated, hardworking pupils who have been supported by excellent teachers, support staff and parents.

“We wish all of our pupils every success in the future and we trust that irrespective of their different levels of success, all of them will have happy and enriching lives, and that those lives will count for the good of all in our society.”

She went on to say: “Last year saw the revival of the school’s PTA, renamed, using the acronym FoCIC - Friends of Crumlin Integrated College. Already, they have raised their profile by hosting the Crumlinweath Games, where local feeder Primary Schools, along with our own pupils enjoyed a variety of sports and a barbecue, and as this is the Golden anniversary year of the school, a range of events is in the planning. The Sixties Fashion show, for example, should raise a few eyebrows!”

She added: “The NEELB continues to keep the school maintained, resourced and advised. Major schemes within the school have witnessed the installation of new PVC windows and the up keeping of exterior paintwork. This level of support has not gone unnoticed, and is very much appreciated by all those who have the school’s interests, and the pupils’ interests at heart.

“I am happy, therefore to be able to report on a school which is productive, vital to the community, and in which relationships between staff, pupils and parents are positive, caring and productive.”
