Ballyclare High School launches new collection of books on philanthropy and giving
Ballyclare High School has launched a new collection of books on philanthropy and giving following a donation from former pupil and Head of Alumni Relations, Sandara Kelso-Robb MBE.
The selection of books for the school library will give pupils and teachers the opportunity to explore topics including generosity, charitable giving, kindness, social responsibility and the impact that individuals can make in their communities.
The initiative reflects Sandara’s commitment to encouraging young people to develop a greater understanding of philanthropy and the many ways people can give.
Sandara said: “I am delighted to help create a collection of books that pupils and teachers can enjoy and learn from. I believe generosity is something we can all develop and practise, so I hope these books will inspire young people to think about the difference they can make and encourage conversations about generosity and giving.”

Dr Rainey, principal added: “We are very grateful to Sandara for this thoughtful donation. These books will encourage our young people to think beyond personal success and consider how they can make a positive difference to others. They remind us that giving is not simply about resources, but about kindness, responsibility and using our talents to support the communities around us.”
The new collection is intended to become a lasting educational resource within the school library and is the school’s first dedicated philanthropy and giving collection, with titles spanning all year groups and subject areas.
The donation also supports the wider work of the Ballyclare High School Foundation in advancing education and promoting pupil wellbeing, while helping to build a culture of generosity within the school community and beyond.
