In a statement, he said: ““I would personally like to congratulate all the young students who received their GCSE, AS-Level and A-level results this week.

“We are very proud of the young people in our community and the results they have achieved. We would also like to praise the work of the local teachers in supporting their students. The results reflect their professionalism and also the commitment of both teachers and parents.

“As well as congratulating those who received excellent results, I commend those who did not achieve what they hoped for, for their efforts. I would like to remind them that they will have continued support from their school or college in continuing in their future path of education or career.

“I personally give my best wishes to you all for the future.”
