Cookstown's Team Aspie is throwing its weight behind the 2017 Bring IT On initiative, Specialisterne NI, which in association with Belfast Metropolitan College is inviting those on the autistic spectrum to find out what types of roles exist within IT here.

The free workshop, which takes from 2-5pm this Saturday (March 11), is billed as an event that will help participants learn about roles in the IT Sector and how to best prepare for each of them.

"We will share how people on the Autistic Spectrum are making a difference to the NI IT Sector by bringing valuable skills and an ability to think out-of-the-box," said a statement about the event.

"A professional actor will role-play scenarios of communication difference in the workplace so that you can explore communication strategies for work."

And for those who take part, there is even a prize of an Amazon Echo on offer.
