Busy Bees at Bleary

AN exciting new educational opportunity is on offer to parents and their pre-school children.

A new pre-school is opening in Bleary Primary School this September for children between the ages of three and five.

Bleary Busy Bees Pre-school is community run and managed. As it operates in a classroom in Bleary Primary School it boasts excellent indoor and outdoor facilities.

Bleary Primary School was purpose built only 13 years ago and it is maintained to a very high standard. The building is immaculate and bright and the grounds are extensive and secure.

There are excellent drop off facilities. Rarely do traffic jams occur at drop off times.

Bleary is centrally located being only five minutes from Portadown, Lurgan and Gilford and even closer to Craigavon and Waringstown.

Being a small rural school Bleary Primary school has always had a very friendly and pastoral atmosphere. The pre-school hopes to develop and maintain this ethos. It is in this environment that children can thrive and reach their potential.

The Pre-school Leader, Mrs Kathryn Kelly, has over 12 years experience working with young children in a wide range of settings from playgroups to nurseries to Foundation Stage (P1/2) classrooms. This wide range of experience has equipped her to carry out her important role. Most recently she has had very valuable experience in a nursery setting which she will bring with her to her new role. Mrs Kelly said she is, “fully committed to ensuring that each child feels safe, valuable and confident whilst working in partnership with parents, carers and staff.”

Mrs Kelly will be ably assisted by Mrs Sandra Whittaker who has five years experience in a playgroup setting. Again she brings lots of good practice with her to Bleary Busy Bees Pre-school.

Mrs Whittaker has high aspirations and hopes for the pre-school. She wants the pre-school to be “a place where children feel happy and valued and parents can leave their children with complete peace of mind.”

She went on to say: “I hope that every child makes new friends and develops new skills in a fun and enjoyable way so that they can reach their full potential.”
