Carrickfergus Academy records ‘three years of continued increase in outcomes’

In a statement on GCSE results day (Thursday), the school said: “Collectively, our students have achieved an 86% pass rate at 5A*-C. This headline represents three years of continued increase in outcomes in addition to being in excess of the Northern Ireland average for similar schools.

Hide Ad“This year’s results include for the first-time, student grades for a number of new subjects introduced to expand the suite of vocational and academic qualifications available to better meet our young people’s skills, aptitudes and interests.”
Of particular note this year, Carrickfergus Academy added, is the outstanding performance of the following students who gained five or more GCSEs all at A / A* grade: Madison McKeown, Clodagh Wright, Amy Greer, Chelsey King, Melissa Sleator, Beth Finlay, Ellen Watt, Jamie Rodgers, Robyn Cosgrove, Jessica Montgomery, Cory McMaster, Max Murray, Katie McBride, Charlene McGookin, Beau Steele, Caitlin Watson, Jake Grant, Emma McKeown and Elizabeth Heggarty.
Madison McKeown, Clodagh Wright, Amy Greer, Beau Steele and Amy Boyd all attained the equivalent of 10 GCSE grades at C standard or above.
