Delighted with performance

BOTH staff and pupils at St Mary’s High School were delighted with the school’s GCSE results.

Principal Deirdre McNally praised the efforts of students, teachers and parents in bringing some outstanding success.

While there were some exceptional performances, it was the overall performance of the year group that most pleased the Principal and the staff.

There was a 21 per cent increaser in the number of pupils achieving 5+A*-C grades and over one third of the students achieved seven or more grades A*-C with two students achieving 11 A*-C grades.

Said Ms McNally: This is an absolutely superb set of results and clearly represents the tremendous effort and commitment by our students and staff over the past two years.

“I congratulate the students on their marvellous achievements and take this opportunity to say how extremely proud of, and pleased for them, I am.

“They took advantage of after-school and Saturday classes and have reaped the rewards of the hard work and dedication shown throughout their time in St Mary’s.
