Elise spells her way to success

ELISE Smyth, a Primary 7 pupil from St Mary’s Primary School, Derrytrasna, Lurgan has won the County Armagh heat of the Ulster Eason Spelling Bee 2012.

As well as taking the title she won £50 worth of books for herself.

Each one of the entrants won a book for taking part in the competition.

Pupils from primary schools across Armagh took part in the “County Bee”.

The Ulster Eason Spelling Bee 2012 is an exciting competition aimed at promoting child literacy and is a fun way of getting children interested in an area that is vital to their education and overall development.

Throughout April and May P7 primary school children from across Northern Ireland are taking part in the Ulster Eason Spelling Bee 2012 which has an overall prize fund of books worth more than £16,000.

Elise will now be invited to attend the Ulster final in June with the winner heading to the all-Ireland final in Dublin on June 22 to battle it out to be crowned the “Eason Spelling Bee 2012”.
