Ethan is a winner with Dale Farm

MAGHERAFELT Primary Six pupil, Ethan has ‘taken home gold’, having been announced as one of the winners of the recent ‘Dale Farm 2012 Dreams Sports Day Design Competition’, in partnership with the Mary Peters Trust, Podium4Sport and the Belfast Telegraph.

Pupils were challenged by the dairy business to put their artistic skills to the test and design the ultimate sports day trophy inspired by the London Games.

Thanks to Ethan’s efforts Magherafelt Primary will receive a sports day equipment pack; a visit and inspirational talk from a local sporting hero such as Dame Mary Peters DBE and refreshments and medals provided by Dale Farm.

President of the Mary Peters Trust, Dame Mary Peters DBE, who this year marks the 40th anniversary of her Olympic gold win, added, “Congratulations to the winning children, who clearly demonstrated their passion for sports and keeping active. It is great to see young people being so enthusiastic about sport and the Games in London will only help encourage that enthusiasm. I am very much looking forward to visiting some of the winning schools and sharing my experience with the sporting talent of tomorrow.”
