Have you got any family Famine memories?

EDENDERRY Primary School was chosen by The Ulster Federation of Local Studies to take part in a project about The Great Famine (1845-1847).

It is hoped to develop materials that will be useful to the school and which can be rolled out to other schools throughout the province and beyond.

Primary Seven visited The Ulster American Folk Park as part of this project.

The school is collecting ‘famine’ family memories, the kind of stories that are passed down from generation to generation by old grannies.

Are their any ‘famine’ memories in your family? Would you be willing to share them?

If so either contact the Leader office on 40662745 or call Doreen McBride on 40623782.
