Local family to hold quiz for Positive Futures

A LISBURN family is organising a fundraising quiz to support local learning disability charity Positive Futures.

The quiz, organised by the Jess family, with support from staff and volunteers from Positive Futures and friends of the family, will take place at Lisburn Racquets Club at 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 27. The family has a long association with Positive Futures, as their daughter Ashleigh was supported by staff and volunteers from the charity’s Lisburn Families Service until she passed away in 2010. Ashleigh’s mother, Vivien, said that Positive Futures had made such a difference to the lives of Ashleigh and the entire family that they wanted to do something to support their work in Lisburn. “Positive Futures doesn’t give up on anyone and succeeds because it focuses on possibilities and opportunities, not disability. Together we agreed the best type of support for Ashleigh and their staff and volunteers did so much to involve her in community life and do the things she loved. The quiz is open to everyone and we hope that lots of people will join us for a fun night and a great local cause,” Vivien said.

Tickets for the quiz are available at the door or by calling Positive Futures on 028 9260 6740.

Positive Futures’ Lisburn Families Service supports children and young people with a learning disability and supports over 30 families in the Lisburn area.
