Loreto chef through to allIreland final

A talented young chef from Loreto College, Coleraine, has won through to the All Ireland Final of the 2015 RIBI Young Chef of the Year competition, organised by Rotary UK and Ireland.

Year 11 pupil, Victoria Tsang, cooked a complex and adventurous menu for a panel of judges at the regional final in Grosvenor Grammar School, Belfast,

Victoria was one of three students who won through to the All Ireland Final, which will be held in Dublin on February 27.

Mrs Sinead McNicholl, Head of Home Economics at Loreto, paid tribute to colleague Mrs Mabel McAleese, who had worked with Victoria on developing her menu as well as advising her on the execution and presentation of her chosen dishes.  Mrs McNicholl also paid tribute to Victoria for her hard work and dedication in preparing for the event, and her calmness under pressure on the day.

Principal Michael James, congratulated Victoria and wished her well for the final round of the competition.
