Newbuildings pupils ‘Bike It’ Breakfast

On Friday last, March 8, the school and Sustrans sponsored a ‘Bike It Breakfast’ through which any child who rode their bicycle or scooter to school wearing a helmet was given a free breakfast. Any parent accompanying them was also given breakfast..

The Principal of Newbuildings Primary School also came to school on his ‘two wheeled vehicle’, his motorcycle. The event proved highly popular with over 50 children riding their bicycles and over 20 parents came along, too.

Mr Scholes was pleased with the response, and said: “That’s over a third of the school who chose to come to school using pedal power and I am thankful of such supportive parents.”

Sustrans donated a basket of prizes and all children who participated name has been put into a draw for the basket.
