Past pupil goes back to school for prize day

A past pupil New-Bridge Integrated College, Mr Lee Doran, made a welcome return to the school when he was guest of honour at the recent Junior Prize Day.

Mr Doran, who runs a Sports Injury Clinic in Banbridge, was welcomed back to school by principal Mrs Anne Anderson, who commented that he “is now a reputable business man and a highly successful entrepreneur as he runs his own Sports Injury Clinic here in our very own Banbridge. A great share and celebrate story for our New-Bridge community which we obviously take full credit for.”

During her speech, Mrs Anderson commented on the progress being made on the new school building. “Well what another great year this has been for New-Bridge, with plans for our new school build well on its way and the opening of our new classroom block behind the canteen, there is no doubt that the Department of Education is committed to investing in our school because we are a such a great school.”

She also noted that the school was honoured by NICIE with the Excellence in Integration Award, as well as receiving the prestigious European Evens Foundation Prize for Peace Education.

Mrs Anderson praised the staff and pupils for their hard work throughout the year. “Our prize-giving is about celebrating achievement through an impressive range of curricular activities which stretch, motivate challenge and support you our young people.”
