Principals discuss getting children back to school

Local school principals have held a virtual meeting with the Education Minister to discuss a return to the classroom.

DUP MP Carla Lockhart hosted the Zoom conference call between 41 local principals from across Upper Bann and the Education Minister Peter Weir MLA to discuss the return to schools of local children.

Ms Lockhart said: “This was a very useful exchange of views between local principals and the Education Minister.

“The last few months has been a challenging time for schools and obviously we want to ensure that when schools return, it happens in a way that provides parents with the confidence to send their loved ones back.

“Key to this will be ensuring Principals have the advice, have the guidance and support to make this possible.

“This is an entirely new circumstance, and as such no-one has all the answers.”
