St Michael’s 
pupils record 96% pass rate

Leading the way was deputy head girl, Niamh McConville with four A* grades, Francesca Alexander and Maeve Mulholland with four A grades, while others who achieved A* or A grades in three subjects included head boy, Shea Heffron and head girl, Anne-Marie Mulholland, as well as Aodhan Dummigan, Jane Lavery, Sonibha McAlinden, Tara McKerr, Nuala McMahon and Lucy O’Hagan.

Success rates at AS were also being celebrated with a number of students, including incoming head boy, Jason Bunting, Alex McCabe, Anton McConville and Brian Perry achieving A grades in all four subjects while others who achieved A* or A grades in three subjects included Meabh Dummigan, Shannon Hall, Eimer Henderson, Ronan Kearney, Adam Kelly, Chloe Magill, Conor McConville, Stefan McKee, Sarah-Louise McMullan, Matthew Mulholland and Conall Towe.

The principal, Mr Gerard Adams, commended both staff and students on their achievements which, he said, were the result of great commitment and dedication and long hours of hard work.

He said: “In St Michael’s we pride ourselves on the excellent relationships we have with both students and their parents and it is wonderful to see such positive outcomes for our young people and we congratulate all of them on their results.

“We also take great pride in the fact that the criteria for admission to A-level studies in St. Michael’s are much lower than in most other grammar schools and many of those students who would have been turned away in other places, stay with us and perform remarkably well.

“We recognise that many students work very hard to achieve B and C grades and we recognise their efforts and achievements and congratulate them on their performance also,” said Mr Adams.

“On behalf of the staff of St. Michael’s, I would like to thank all of our Year 14 parents for their input over the past four years and pass on our very best wishes to our departing students for their future studies and their future careers.”
