Talented Eglinton artist Alex, 13, raises over £5,000 for Altnagelvin

The Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) gratefully acknowledges the incredible fundraising efforts of Foyle College student Alex Patterson from Eglinton who completed a 12-hour sponsored painting marathon on 1 May 2020 to raise money for the Trust’s Covid-19 Ward at Altnagelvin Hospital.

Alex set up GoFund me page with a target amount of £1,800.

Through the generosity of everyone who donated Alex smashed her target amount with one donator donating £400 for a painting of the Titanic.

The final total raised was £5,025.

A spokesperson for the Western Trust said: “Alex is 13 years old and already a talented artist.

“She has donated her two stunning landscape paintings to her local nursing homes Longfield Care Home and Templemoyle Private Nursing Home.

“Alex thank you so much for your kind gesture I am sure your paintings will bring smiles of delight to the staff and residents.

“You really are an inspiration to us all and we want to say well done Alex.”
