Young people learn more about policing at Youth Volunteer Academy

Last week marked the end of a 10 week Youth Volunteer Academy programme carried out by the Education Authority assisted by three members of Lisburn City Neighbourhood Policing Team, Lindsay Playforth, Robbie Orr and Karl Dillon.

A spokesperson for the Lisburn City Neighbourhood team explained: “During this time the young people involved threw themselves into everything they were faced with whilst also learning about policing and even completed an OCN qualification for taking part.

“We would specifically like to thank Jo Venus and Holly Lyness from the EA who were on hand every week leading the way with this program and making it a success.

“We hope to see more young people volunteering for the next program.”
