Twenty-five senior citizens from Bond’s Street are set to benefit, as will a local catering company, Goodfellows, which is providing the dinners.

Lloyd Magee, the Chairperson of Bond’s Street Community Association explained: “We undertook a similar scheme in previous years and it was very much appreciated by the elderly people in the area.

“Most of the people who will receive meals are living alone and are particularly vulnerable during cold weather.”

He said the scheme made a big difference to people and ensured nobody went without when it was tried in the past.

“We were very pleased to have received funding to allow us to roll out this service again in the Bond Street Neighbourhood Renewal area.”

The Community Association will deliver hot meals to 25 senior citizens thanks to funding received through the Neighbourhood Health Improvement Project, which is funded by the Public Health Agency.
