Brenda Houston, club president and Denis Hession recently delivered a financial donation and several bags of provisions collected by Rotary members to Holly Clarke and Andree Martin for use by the Babybank.

Rotary first learned about the work of Carrickfergus Babybank in 2019 when founders Holly Clarke and Nicole Baxter visited the club to explain how the service, set up in the Open Door Centre in Sunnylands, provides emergency baby supplies to families in the Carrickfergus, Whitehead and Greenisland area who may be struggling with short term financial difficulties.

Holly explained the need for such a service locally was identified through existing support networks in the area and those personnel now often link up to make referrals to the Babybank.

Like other Babybanks throughout the UK, the Carrickfergus branch relies on groups and individuals donating essential items such as nappies, wipes, toiletries and good quality baby items.
