Coffee morning for Parkinson’s Carers

THE support and research charity, Parkinson’s UK, is inviting local people to join them at a drop in coffee morning for Carers on Monday November 21 in Banbridge Leisure Centre. The event will run from 11am until 1pm and refreshments will be available.

The free event is for friends and family members who are caring for someone with Parkinson’s. Attendees will have the opportunity to obtain information and meet with Parkinson’s UK group members and staff.

The local Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist will be there too.

Local woman Sheila McQuaid cares for her husband Frank who has Parkinson’s. Sheila explains: “Every hour someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s, but at the moment there is no cure.

“This drop in session in Banbridge Leisure Centre is a great opportunity to find out what support is available locally. You can join us in making sure that no-one has to face Parkinson’s alone.”
