Organised by Councillor Dominic Molloy, it is hoped the meeting, which is set to take place in the Ryandale Inn at 7.30pm, will allow groups to pool resources and confront this challenge in an organised and coordinated manner.

“I have arranged a meeting in Moy to try and help bring together all the local groups who are offering help to those in need in the coming weeks and months,” said Cllr Molloy.

“Rather than have five or six groups working individually, it is hoped to try and coordinate centrally and be able to signpost folk to who is doing what and what more can be done.

“There is a great desire within the community to help out but we need to ensure we avoid duplication or worse, that someone falls through the net and doesn’t receive help.”

The secretary of the local GAA Club, Moy Tír na nÓg, has also welcomed the meeting.

“We would be a big part of the community and want to do what we can to help our family and friends,” said Mary Daly.

“We had already started formulating a plan on our own – we wanted to see what we could do to help, but when Dominic contacted us about this meeting it made such sense.

“It is a great idea for us to come together so everyone is able to pool their resources and not just their doing own bits and pieces and potentially duplicating efforts.

“This is a situation that will have a great impact on the whole community, by coming together like this, we can ensure we are in the best shape possible to meet the challenge.”

The meeting will take place at 7.30pm in the Ryandale Inn. Social distancing recommendations will apply and as such, a limited number of people will be allowed entry.
