The cinema chain said it had taken the decision due to the latest Government advice on COVID-19.

A statement from the company read: "Following on from our announcement of the closure of Omniplex Cinemas in the Republic of Ireland, we have made the difficult decision to also close all Omniplex Cinemas in Northern Ireland tonight due to updated Government advice until the 29th of March.

"We will review our re-opening date in line with Government advice.

"All online pre-booked tickets will be automatically refunded in the coming days, if you have booked your tickets in-cinema, please email [email protected]."

Earlier this month, the company implemented a 'seat separation' policy at all of its cinemas in a bid to combat the spread of coronavirus.
