CORONAVIRUS: Top NI agricultural show cancelled

Lurgan Show in Co Armagh, which attracts thousands of visitors every year, was due to take place on June 5 this year.

However organisers have cancelled the event this year due to the Coronavirus crisis.

A statement from the organisers said on Monday: “At tonight’s meeting, the Committee of Lurgan Show Society took the decision to cancel the 2020 Lurgan Show, this in view of the Covid-19 situation.

“This decision has not been taken lightly.

“We wish to thank the sponsors and voluntary committee for their input & time so far this year.

“See you all again on Saturday 5th June 2021.”
